If you are a "foodie" or just enjoy watching Food Network, then surely you are familiar with Guy Fieri's show "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives" where he travels around the country highlighting some of the nation's best kept secrets in the culinary scene.
With Northwest Arkansas continuing to boom, our food culture is creating more and more buzz locally and nationally, and we want to celebrate it.
Over the next few months, we will be highlighting some of our local favorites from fine dining, to local eateries, to mom and pop's, to even food trucks - we plan to give you some mouth watering tips on where to dine in our area, and how you can experience the "foodie" culture that makes up this great part of the world.
To kick us off, we sat down with one of Northwest Arkansas' newest and hottest spots located in the heart of downtown Rogers called Levi's Gastrolounge & Lowbar.
When stepping into Levi's, it immediately feels like an experience that you won't find elsewhere in Northwest Arkansas. It has a country urban feel from water jars on the table, and brass mugs at the bar, but a sophisticated gourmet menu. This is more than just your neighborhood bar.
Owners Levi & Jessica Rush, opened just two months ago in the historic Poplar Plaza in downtown Rogers. They were inspired to open a place that they could showcase "grandma's kind of cookin'" in a swanky fun environment. Diners can enjoy a unique dining experience in a historic building with all ingredients made from scratch including their fresh drinks that change seasonally.
Levi Rush, "We have created an atmosphere that diners can tailor to their comfort. If you want to come in after work in a pair of sweats and grab a burger and a drink, you can. If you are looking for a five course meal and a night out on the town, you can have that experience here as well. We are a family friendly restaurant, and have a menu that fits every occasion."
Most excitedly, they have announced the addition of new staff Andrew Crittenden, who will be their Bar Manager and resident Mixologist.
Known best for their Tomahawk Ribeyes, diners can enjoy 32 ounces of mouth-watering bliss.
Among their menu items, include starters of Guamian Lumpias, Duck Wings, and Parmesan & Panko Encrusted Mac-n-cheese, and many more... showing the diversity of delicious options to choose from.
Rush says that their menu items are a melting pot, much like their family... "I am an American mut, my grandmother is Spanish, my grandfather is Irish, and my mother is Italian. Our recipes are inspired by the melting pot I grew up with."
And don't forget your meal is incomplete without trying one of their made-to-order donuts or metal mixer shakes for dessert.
Levi's is open Tuesday-Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Friday and Saturday evenings are filled with live music by local artists.
This next week they are offering a special Valentine's seating. For more information on Levi's visit their website here.
