Convergence, a four-acre outdoor play space located on the southeast side of Crystal Bridges, will serve residents and visitors of all ages and abilities. In the museum’s announcement they said “the space will invite visitors to step off the trail and into a park that uses the natural surroundings to engage the senses with interactive elements and water features that mimic the Ozark landscape.” The Walton Family Foundation’s Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program provided a grant for the design of the project. The project is still in the design phase led by Crystal Bridges and the Amazeum “to create a free, public place to interact with art and nature through play.” A timeline for completion of this project will be released at a later date.
Just north of the Scott Family Amazeum, Crystal Bridges will be building a six-story, 800 space, mixed-use parking structure. Not only will it accommodate the museum’s future growth, it will also include a stage and two levels of program and engagement space. This space will allow for more programming and community engagement. Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2021 with an estimated completion date in the fall of 2022.
