November 11, 2011 Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened their doors for the first time to the public in Bentonville, Arkansas. In their first year of being open, they welcomed more than 650,000 guests. Fast-forward to 10 years later, Crystal Bridges has had over 5.6 million visitors travel to their 200,000 square foot facility from all over the nation and even overseas. This year, as the museum celebrates their 10 year anniversary, there are many accomplishments to celebrate and look back on. Crystal Bridges has impacted our area in many ways:
- The museum has been a catalyst for growth for Northwest Arkansas
- National and international recognition for the museum itself as well as Northwest Arkansas
- The Crystal Bridges’ name has become a household word in the international art world
- The museum recently announced they are doubling their campus size
