As a commercial real estate company that seeks to generate interest and success in our region, we salute the efforts of the Northwest Arkansas Council. The NWA Council aims to advance job opportunities, talent recruitment, physical infrastructure, health care, and quality of life in Northwest Arkansas. In November of 2020, the council announced an incentive-based relocation campaign The initiative, backed by the Walton Family Foundation, offers a $10,000 cash incentive to assist with costs associated with relocating to NWA. In addition to the money, recipients will also receive a street or mountain bike or an annual membership to one of our world-class art institutions. 26,000 applications spanning 115 countries, and all 50 states have been submitted so far. The NWA Council has selected the first 25 applicants with a wide range of professions from arts to technology to be awarded through this program. They must make the move within six months of acceptance and stay for at least one year to receive the full incentive benefits. This current campaign will select a total of 100 recipients with talks of expanding the program in the future. To see if you are qualified to apply click here.
To piggyback off of the success and interest this incentive-based campaign has created, the Northwest Arkansas Council recently announced a national advertising and outreach campaign called “Life Works Here.” The goal of this campaign is to promote the benefits of our region to STEM, creative, tech, and entrepreneurs. This campaign will launch digitally in markets such as Austin, Denver, Minneapolis, and Seattle. Some of the sponsors for this campaign include J.B. Hunt, Simmons Food, Tyson Foods, Alice L. Walton Foundation, Walmart, and the Walton Family Foundation.
Northwest Arkansas is growing not only in population, but also in the types of industries that can thrive here. While our population is on track to reach 1 million residents by 2045, we are expanding in technology, hospitality, and tourism industries at a fast pace as well. It’s because of these new areas of growth that Northwest Arkansas continues to stay relevant in headlines, news articles, lists, and more!
