Meet the Team Monday – Kellie Carpenter

Meet Kellie Carpenter our Marketing Assistant! Kellie is from Waco, TX and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.A. in Communications. She uses her creativity to manage our social media accounts, create content for our blog, and find new ways to market Steve Fineberg & Associates! She has been a great addition to our office and we are excited to see her grow in her position.

Why did you decide to come to the University of Arkansas and leave Texas?

I actually only applied to one school in Texas, Texas A&M. Both of my parents and my aunt and uncle graduated from A&M, so I wanted to follow in their footsteps, but it’s a hard school to get in to! I applied to Arkansas because I heard great things about it and my parents liked that I would be eligible for instate tuition. I have loved living in Northwest Arkansas and am so happy I chose to go to college away from home!

We know you like to stay active; how do you accomplish that throughout the week?

I enjoy being active and working out to relive stress. Right now, I am kick boxing which is something I have never done before! It is empowering to punch and kick the bag, but it is also a fun way to workout. I also love being outside. Recently, we have had some rainy weather, but I am so excited for summer and the sunshine!

How long have you been with Steve Fineberg & Associates?

I have been with the company almost 10 months. I came to Steve Fineberg & Associates a little after I graduated college. A Communications degree, while broad, didn’t offer me a lot of direction in what I wanted to do. I started out here as a Front Desk Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant, but Steve gave me an opportunity to pursue a career in Marketing. I have a passion for being creative and having the freedom to come up with new ideas so I knew I would enjoy marketing. So far, I have learned so much from Caleb, our VP of Marketing & Promotions. It is exciting to be in this role and I’m thankful Steve opened a door for me to find a new career path.

As our social media manager, what is your opinion on the importance of social media?

My favorite thing about social media is being able to see bits and pieces of other people’s lives as well as keep up with my own friends and family. I know that social media is just covering the surface of someone’s reality and I always have to check myself when becoming too invested in what I see on social media platforms. I do believe that it is a great tool for personal inspiration and promotion.

You like to travel, have you ever been abroad?

I had the opportunity to go on two mission trips to Ghana, Africa with my dad. For someone who doesn’t like to fly, I was proud of myself for signing up a second time for the 16-hour trip over there! In all seriousness, I will never forget those trips because of the eye-opening experiences I had while there. I would love to go back some day!

Growing up in Texas, what are some of your fondest memories?

In Texas there are a lot of outdoor things to do, similar to Arkansas. I grew up hunting, riding four wheelers, and fishing with my dad. He was blessed with 3 girls, so I was happy to be his “stand-in son.” Last year he took me hunting and I shot my first 8-point buck!

If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?

I would want to be able to teleport because I would be able to go anywhere I want in the blink of an eye. I’m sure it would save me a lot of gas money!

What have you enjoyed about working in a commercial real estate office?

I didn’t know anything about real estate before coming to Steve Fineberg & Associates, but I have enjoyed assisting agents with their properties and seeing what goes on behind the scenes. Being on the marketing side, I enjoy being in the know about what is coming to the area and what is on the market in Northwest Arkansas. There are a lot of moving pieces in the real estate world and I think our office does a great job of managing those pieces and working together to get things done.
