New Park Plans Revealed – Bentonville

Bentonville Parks & Rec has worked for the past year on gathering public input for their new park, 8th Street Gateway Park. After numerous community input sessions, surveys, public tours, and more the plans have been revealed for this new public park. There are four aspects that the City of Bentonville and PORT design consultants deemed important to the community and therefore will be the focus of the master plan for the park. Those aspects are: play, connectivity, ecology, and community.

The 8th Street Gateway Park will contain nearly 100 acres located west of the SW 8th and SW I Street intersection. The acreage was donated by Walmart Inc. and the Walton Family. Similar to other projects taking place around Northwest Arkansas, this master plan was funded by a Design Excellence Grant awarded by the Walton Family Foundation.
