Do you suffer from a sweet tooth? With so many options to choose from this can become a difficult decision. Cookies, cake, ice cream, candy- what cures your cravings? We are lucky to have many great sweet treat options in Northwest Arkansas. Check out some of our favorites!
Markham & Fitz Chocolate
Chocolate- enough said. Who doesn’t love chocolate? Markham & Fitz Chocolate is a local chocolate shop that specializes in all things…. well chocolate. Their creations range from cookies and chocolate bars, to chocolate milk and cocktails. They source their cacao beans from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, and Haiti with the goal of giving back to these farmers and their communities. It takes Markham & Fitz eight days to turn the beans into chocolate! Some of their menu items include the Brown Sugar Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookies, 6-Layer Dominican Republic Chocolate Cake, and their Espresso Martini.
Smudgies Dessert Lab
Donuts, cereal, AND ice cream? What more could you want? Smudgies is a locally owned ice cream shop that likes to integrate all the sweets into one delicious dessert. They can create the perfect sweet treat for whatever your heart desires! There are two locations one in Fayetteville and the other in Springdale. If you’re looking for a donut-ice cream sandwich, a fruity pebble ice cream cone, or a s’mores milkshake, Smudgies is the place for you!
Sweet Scoops Blender Bar
Newly opened, Sweet Scoops Blender Bar takes a modern twist on everyday favorites. They take ice cream, blend it with cereal, fruits, and other desserts, then use a bubble waffle as the cone! They also have Waffle Pops, and they look just as good as they sound! Its a waffle on a stick topped with icing, chocolate, cereal, sprinkles, or candy. There isn’t anything like this in NWA, so be sure to check this place out in the Farmington Village!
Pure Joy Ice Cream
What started off as a family fundraiser to raise money for their friend’s adoption process is now a popular ice cream shop in Siloam Springs. Pure Joy Ice Cream, founded in 2017, is passionate about giving back and partners with local organizations to do so. They use local ingredients to make their delicious ice cream. Some of their flavors include Sweet Brown Vanilla, Cookie Crumble, and Strawberries & Cream. They also have sorbets, milkshakes, and coffee.
Burton’s Creamery
Famously known for their food truck on Dickson, Burton’s Creamery has grown into their own space at the Uptown Apartments & Shops in Fayetteville. Their soft-serve ice cream is one of a kind, rich and creamy because it is 10% butterfat while most contain only 1-3%. Once you choose your ice cream flavor, you can have it rolled in your favorite topping whether that’s cereal, cookies, pretzels, or candy!
Alchemy Macarons
Alchemy Macarons has perfected their tasty little treats by “creating authentic French macarons with rich, bold flavor.” Macarons are perfect for a mid-day treat or even as gifts! The filling is made with fine chocolates and house made jams. Some of their flavors include Salted Caramel, Honey Lavender, Birthday Cake, and Pumpkin Spice. They have two locations- one in Rogers in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade and one in Fayetteville on the square.
