The Jones Center

“We fuel community connections, cultivating spaces and experiences where everyone can learn, play and thrive together.”

That is the mission of the Jones Center in Springdale, Arkansas. The Jones Center was founded in 1995 by philanthropist Bernice Jones. The 220,000 square foot community center sits on 52 acres in the newly revitalized Downtown Springdale. The Jones Center is a multi-functional facility offering a space for learning, gathering, exercising, and so much more. Today, there are more than 8,000 members but the center welcomes a quarter of a million people each year.

With the community in mind, the Jones Center is able to offer multiple forms of recreation to meet various needs at an affordable price. The gymnasium is utilized for all types of sports including basketball, volleyball, pickleball, & group fitness. There is also a full gym with equipment such as treadmills, weights, cable systems, ellipticals and more. One feature that sets the Jones Center apart is the ice arena as it’s the only one in our area. They are able to offer lessons as well public skate times to our community. In addition to members & visitors utilizing the rink, the Arkansas Razorbacks Hockey Club and NWA Hockey Association practices and plays at the Jones Center. Another area of recreation that the Jones Center is able to offer is a junior sized olympic lap pool & leisure pool with wrap around slide. Local schools compete & practice in the lap pool in addition to the water aerobics classes & swim lessons that take place there. All of these amenities offered by the Jones Center can be accessed via membership or day passes. You can find their prices and daily schedule of classes here.

The Jones Center is also home to the Center for Nonprofits @ the JTL Shops. Now housing more than 40 nonprofits, this center was designed to offer nonprofits affordable professional office and meeting space. This allows the nonprofits to utilize funding for direct services rather than on overhead costs. The Jones Center takes pride in being able to offer many kind of services in one convenient location.

There are three partners that have made their home inside the Jones Center: All About Kids Therapy, Camp War Eagle, and Haas Hall Academy. All About Kids Therapy Center features a team of speech language pathologists and occupational and physical therapists. They treat children of all ages and all abilities. Camp War Eagle is most known for its summer camp program on Beaver Lake, but they utilize the Jones Center for afterschool programs, day camps, youth group meetings, mentoring, and more. Haas Hall Academy is a public charter school that has multiple locations across Northwest Arkansas. For many years, Haas Hall has been named the #1 public high school in Arkansas by U.S. News and World Report.

While there is so much to explore and take part in on the inside of the Jones Center, the outdoor campus is just as unique. You will find the Runway Bike Park which is a 2.75-acre state-of-the-art bicycle skills park. It includes the Velosolutions Pump Track which is one of the largest asphalt pump tracks in North America, a bike skills course, and a bicycle playground. This outdoor bike park was designed with Northwest Arkansas’ vibrant mountain biking culture in mind.

As you can see, the Jones Center is a multifunctional facility with so much to offer. Their efforts to provide the community with access to health, educational, and recreational services will continue to be elevated as there are plans for a campus expansion in the works. Though still in the early phases of this expansion, the Jones Center expects the full project to take 5 years and $60 million dollars to complete. You can read more about their vision for this expansion here.
