New & Noteworthy- Fayetteville

Fayetteville Cultural Arts Corridor

Fayetteville is working on a new community project called the Cultural Arts Corridor. The Corridor will be located on West Avenue near the popular nightlife area known as Dickson Street. It will be a dynamic 50-acre outdoor project focused on highlighting the local art’s culture, preserving the environment, and creating gathering places for our community. The Cultural Arts Corridor will also include a new park called Fay Jones Woods. This wooded creek area will feature a system of new trails stemming from the Razorback Greenway as well as canopy walks, gathering spaces, and bike parking. This is an exciting addition for Fayetteville that will increase the quality of life for residents and visitors.

The Graduate Hotel

The Graduate Hotel, formerly The Chancellor, is located just a few blocks off the Fayetteville Square near many restaurants and retail. The hotel has 234 rooms and an all-day cafe and lobby-bar called Poindexter. Graduate Hotels are often found in university-anchored cities and they reflect the history and charm of the community. Many features in the hotel pay tribute to the University of Arkansas, the Ozark Mountain Region, and many prominent figures in Northwest Arkansas. The Graduate Hotel will be reopening their doors on June 24th, 2020.

TheatreSquared

TheatreSquared is “Northwest Arkansas’ year-round professional resident theatre.” They have been recognized as one of the nation’s ten most promising emerging theatres. With almost 320 annual performances, TheatreSquared is able to reach 65,000 patrons each year. In August 2019, TheatreSquared opened the doors to their new two-venue, 50,000 square foot building. The building has become a cultural landmark in Fayetteville and features two theaters, rehearsal space, a three-level commons space and cafe, an outdoor gathering area, and more. TheatreSquared is expected to resume shows in the Fall of 2020.
